Stonework
Wrecclesham
We where involved in a major re-ordering project at St Peters Wrecclesham near Farnham, Surrey. It involved some major counter levering to support the west gable wall, whild we made a hole 3 meters by 2 meters to construct a new opening. Inserting RSJs steels and expanding cement to take the load. Finished with a stone facing over the lintol. This kind of project makes a major diffence to the use of the church and is very satisfying on completetion.
Crondall
This set of 7 images show the step by step process we use in restoring a window to it’s former glory.
This particular window is one of 4 north facing windows in All Saints Church, Crondall, that we have restored. These particular windows required serious rebuilding work, incorporating pieces of the original stone that where reusable, in conjunction with newly carved replacement stone. To finish a sheltercoat/lime wash was applied in conjunction with a lead flashing over the new hood moulding for protection.
Construction
Ewshot
Lager scale repairs: Due to a mix of original building methods and cement pointing, this gable end at Ewshot had a large vertical crack running down its outer facing. The after investigation the decision was taken to rebuild the entire top section of the gable, as the overall construction was deem dangerous and unstable
Cleaning
